Sculpture and performance with Tim Spooner

04.MARCH.2021 • 10:30 - 12:00

This online workshop is part of our artist development programme, Reboot, which connects and cross-pollinates creatives across disciplines – from the worlds of music, theatre, visual art, architecture and healthcare. We have been providing free professional development opportunities to artists for many years. During the pandemic, Reboot has gone online to provide additional support to artists through these challenging corona times. We aim to nurture a highly-skilled, diverse creative workforce and a strong, vibrant arts sector.

Sculpture and performance
with Tim Spooner
Thursday 4 March, 10:30am – 12pm

The workshop will be an introduction to Tim Spooner’s work across different disciplines, and an invitation to a sculptural experiment with miniature objects and materials found in your home.

Open to performance makers of all types, especially those interested in objects or developing the visual side of their work.

About Tim Spooner
Tim Spooner works in performance, drawing, painting, sculpture and design. He uses materials and objects in ways that reveal unexpected properties, aiming to open up perspectives beyond the human scale and discover new flavours which are weird and alluring.  Interested in unpredictability, his work is an exercise in balancing control with chaos in the handling of the materials he’s using.

Since 2010, he has created a series of increasingly complex live works focussed on revealing desire in objects. More recently he’s worked on collaborative projects with artists in other fields like musicians and choreographers.
