Do you want to learn more about what it means to arrange music ? Join vocalist and arranger Tehillah Alphonso in discussion with Clod Ensemble Artistic Director & Ear Opener creator Paul Clark.
This online session will cover the role of an arranger, some basic arranging skills and discuss how to get into this type of work. We will have the opportunity to meet Tehillah and hear about the work of this incredible Grammy nominated artist.
TEHILLAH ALPHONSO has lent her musical expertise and voice to numerous feature films, television series, and live performances. Most recently, Tehillah earned her first Grammy nomination for “Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals” for her arrangement of “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke, performed by LA-based choir Tonality and conducted by Alexander Lloyd Blake.
A proud Summa Cum Laude graduate of the USC, Tehillah received her B.M. in Popular Music Performance from the Thornton School of Music and was named 2020 Outstanding Graduate. Shortly after graduating, Tehillah went on to serve as a session singer and vocal arranger on a number of films and television series. Her vocals have been featured in series like Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring Andy Samberg, Netflix series Midnight Mass starring Kate Siegal, and The Late Late Show with James Corden where she performed with the band Good Charlotte.
Tehillah’s extensive vocal resume further includes Space Jam 2 starring Michael B. Jordan and Zendaya, and Disney’s Encanto. In addition to film and TV, Tehillah has shared the stage with notable artists including Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lebo M. She also starred as Nala in a live-to-film adaptation of Disney’s The Lion King (2019), which toured nationally in Taiwan.
