Reboot: Exploring choreographic practice with Laïla Diallo
Clod Ensemble Studios, Design District, Greenwich Peninsula, London
Artists Sharing their Practice
This workshop will be an opportunity to explore the choreographic practice of Laïla Diallo as she develops ideas for a new creation. Suitable for artists working with movement in their practice.
Between what was and next
‘Sometimes, Tom, we have to do a thing in order to find a reason for it. Sometimes our actions are questions. Not answers.’ John le Carré, A Perfect Spy
In this workshop, as a springboard for physical exploration and discussion, Laila will share some of the recurring interests and questions underpinning her choreographic process, whether she is working with dancers, a rock band or people who don’t usually perform. We will work all together, in smaller groups, independently. We may move in contact with one another.
The workshop is free to attend but registration is essential. If you are currently in paid employment and feel that you could afford to, please consider making a donation. All donations will go towards paying freelance creatives, artists and educators to work with us.
LAÏLA DIALLO is a dance maker and performer based in Bristol, UK. Alongside independently and collaboratively devising pieces for live performance, she often works as movement director in theatre and opera.
