Reboot: Origami and Movement with Makiko Aoyama
The workshop is open to anyone who is interested in exploring the art of origami as a stimulus for movement.
Makiko will lead participants through different ways of folding paper. They will create their own origami pieces and use these to play and explore new ways of moving their body and creating movement.
MAKIKO AYOAMA is a Japanese born, London based movement artist and performance maker. Since graduating from Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Makiko has regularly collaborated with Lea Anderson, Frauke Requardt and David Rosenberg and Clod Ensemble. She is currently creating a new immersive dance performance using origami for children under 5 and their families, with dance artist Takeshi Matsumoto. Origami has been part of her life from a young age and she is currently collaborating with dance artist Takeshi Matsumoto to create an immersive dance performance bringing together origami and movement
