Music to Move to: Open Level Dance Workshop

This workshop is inspired by ‘The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady’, Clod Ensemble’s new collaborative production with acclaimed jazz ensemble Nu Civilisation Orchestra, returning for three performances at Barbican Centre from Thursday 19th – Saturday 21st September.
‘The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady’ will transform the Barbican’s theatre into a vibrant cabaret venue in order to celebrate the iconic jazz album by seminal composer/bassist Charles Mingus. With dancers, band and audience all sharing the floor, attendees have the opportunity to get up close to world class performers and lose themselves in dancing along with this rhythmically explosive work.
The workshop will be led by Clod Ensemble dancers who will appear in ‘The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady’. Attendees will have the opportunity to move freely, express themselves and learn moves which will be used in group dance sections of ‘The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady’.
Suitable for all levels of experience. This workshop is for adults.
