For over 25 years, Suzy Willson and Paul Clark – Artistic Directors of Clod Ensemble – have created a unique body of performance work which explores the relationship between movement and music.
Part-gig, part-installation, This Is My Room offers an unusual way to experience a concert. It sees Clod Ensemble focus their attention on the live musician as performer, each with their own theatricality and musical voice. In making the piece we were exploring ideas of solitude, congregation, public and private space, and to what extent the inner life of the musician might actually be familiar to us all.
In this accompanying series of workshops, discussions and listening parties, brilliant musicians, performers and designers pick up on some of the themes explored in the piece.
