Beyond their work in Clod Ensemble, Suzy Willson and Paul Clark work on projects led by other artists – sometimes independently and sometimes together. Highlights are listed below.
In June 2023 we worked alongside acclaimed artist/designer Richard Malone to create ‘Concurrence (or three acts of intention)’, an interdisciplinary performance incorporating elements of music, movement and spoken word.
‘Concurrence (or three acts of intention)’ was presented as part of a private view for the launch of ‘Dear Earth: Art and Hope in a Time of Crisis’, a group show of artistic responses to the climate emergency hosted at the Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre, London

Suzy Willson and Paul Clark supported the development of Tales of the Earth, a self-written folk tale and live audio-visual experience created by Damsel Elysium.
Damsel Elysium is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, experimental sound and visual artist based in London. They use double bass, violin and original recorded sounds to explore alternative communication and connections with space and nature.
Gare St Lazare Ireland are recognised leaders in the staging of Samuel Beckett’s plays and non-dramatic prose texts. Paul Clark has worked twice with Gare St Lazare Ireland. This relationship includes Clark co-creating Here All Night, staged at the Brighton Festival (2013), New York City’s Lincoln Centre (2018) and Dublin’s The Abbey (2018).
Paul Clark has a long-standing collaboration with theatre and opera director Katie Mitchell. He has written over thirty scores for Mitchell’s productions, including for acclaimed works such as Waves and Wunschkonzert and for performances staged at venues including the National Theatre, Berlin Schaubühne and Vienna’s Burgtheater.
Suzy Willson has worked with musicians for decades, helping many artists fully explore the visual dimension of their work in the process. In 2023 she worked with indie-rock legends James, animating the live orchestra and choir for their acclaimed 30th Anniversary tour which included performances at the Albert Hall and the Parthenon.
