Pierrot Lunaire

Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire (1912) is one of the most influential pieces of twentieth century music.

Clod Ensemble’s production of this seminal piece was sung in the original German.

Musicians were placed in a cluster in the centre of the space, creating  an extraordinary lunar sculpture onto which Alice Oswald’s beautiful English translation of the text was projected.

The audience were free to walk around the musicians, getting as close to the players as they wish.
