How does the mental and physical wellbeing of healthcare professionals affect the people who find themselves in their care?
Working in healthcare environments is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. Often healthcare professionals are so focused on looking after their patients that they forget to look after themselves.
This conversation will share the work of Performing Medicine – our innovative arts-based training programme for healthcare professionals. Drawing on a recent pilot of Performing Medicine in Swansea, a panel of practitioners working across medicine and the arts will discuss how ‘self-care’ for healthcare professionals has a fundamental role in compassionate care and patient outcomes.
