Hackney Rooms – call out

CALL OUT

Are you aged 18 – 30? Live in Hackney?
Into making music or sound? Got a lockdown experience to talk about?

Hackney Rooms is a music project taking place in March and April in De Beauvoir, Hackney. It focuses on the themes of “the spaces we live in” and “how we have handled life throughout lockdowns?”

The project will be produced by Electric Farmer and we are looking for singers, rappers, musicians, producers, sound technicians, poets or lyricists to collaborate with.

You will be paid £120 for a total of 10 hours of collaboration and creation. This will include creative workshops and mentoring with industry professionals and access to studio time and equipment. The workshops will cover music production techniques such as sampling, editing and sound design. Whatever your speciality, Hackney Rooms will give you skills that unlock new stages in your creativity.

Show us what you do. Send us a demo of anything you’ve made that represents your work along with a few lines about yourself, and what kind of musician or sound creator you are. Your demo doesn’t have to be a finished product, it can be a work in progress, even if it’s you singing into your phone.  Get in touch by filling in this form.

You will need to attend the following sessions, as well as having additional time to work on your own:
Wednesday 7th April: 6.30pm – 8.30pm (2hrs)
Saturday 10th April: 10am – 5pm (6hrs, not including lunchbreak)
Saturday 17th April: Time tbc (2hrs)

Deadline 31 March
