“Clod Ensemble is one of those innovative and anarchic companies thrusting its way through traditional boundaries of drama.”
The Guardian

“The winning combination of music (composed by Paul Clark) and experimental physical theatre (directed by Suzy Willson) has made them pioneers of contemporary music theatre, taking them into new territories, often in collaboration with other artists and disciplines...”

Healthcare professionals to receive arts-based training as pioneering research partnership is launched

Three year collaboration between Clod Ensemble’s Performing Medicine and Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre (SaIL) funded by Guy’s & St Thomas’s Charity.

We are delighted to announce the launch of a pioneering three year research and development partnership that will create a unique arts-based training programme for healthcare professionals at King’s Health Partners hospitals in London.

Supported by a £580,000 grant from the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, which supports innovation in healthcare, the partnership between SaIL and Performing Medicine will create ten bespoke courses across a range of clinical practices and settings including emergency medicine and mental health, drawing on research to deliver training appropriate to each sector.

In addition to developing and delivering the training programme, the findings of the project will be disseminated to medical educationalists, policymakers, participatory artists and arts educationalists locally and across the UK with the aim of establishing arts-based learning as a key methodology in the training of healthcare professionals.
A press release will follow shortly. To be kept informed about the project and other Performing Medicine activities, please sign up to our mailing list.
